Additionally to the new bike demo area the existing parking area will also be repurposed in order to host permitted trailhead events. This will allow for more accommodation and reduce the need to park in large numbers. The existing entrance will include a safety feature, security, art, and other modifications.

Sandy Ridge Trailhead Access Project also features two short connecting trails. They will connect the existing parking to a bike hub. A bus stop will be situated at the trailhead to make it easy for riders to get to the trail. There will be sculptures and art. Some of the sculptures may feature sculptures of mountain bikers and native animals.

Located on the western side of Mount Hood, the Sandy Ridge Trail System offers a wide variety of experiences for riders of all ages and abilities. There are more than 15 miles of machine-built trails and natural trails. This includes a double black diamond-expert trail and a downhill-only path.

The system is located on top of a 70 million-year-old kaolin clay bed. The area was a wetlands before the Sandy Ridge Trail System was built. It returned to its natural state eventually. It was part a land exchange when the Trail System first was constructed. The land swap enabled the development and preservation of large blocks of public land.
